The ever-expanding Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences has been an essential pillar of the university's foundation ever since its establishment in 1991.
The college's four departments include the department of Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology & Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, and the department of Nutrition in addition to the highly equipped Pharmaceutical Studies Centre which was instigated to serve graduate students and for industrial research purposes.
In addition to the faculty's essential departments there are over ten multi-faceted committees each serving a plethora of administrative, academic, research, and community-based domains all of which are ran by experienced and highly competent faculty members.
The offered undergraduate programmes comprise of the BSc in Pharmacy and the BSc in Clinical Nutrition. There's currently one graduate programme presented, the MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences but the faculty is, however, in the process of introducing three new suggested graduate program. In clinical nutrition.
The faculty contains a nutritive clinic supervised by specialized personnel from the department of nutrition as well as a smoking cessation clinic supervised by qualified and accredited faculty members. Both clinics provide a wide array of accessible services available to students and members of the administrative and teaching staff.
The faculty pays great attention to clinical training, under the supervision of specialized clinical pharmacists, with the ultimate and definitive purpose of allowing students to attain a level of qualification adequate to launch them successfully onto the job market. To enhance and maximize the training experience, the faculty established a virtual pharmacy and concluded arrangements and agreements with pharmaceutical institutions and hospitals to train students on the field.
The faculty also places a high value on extracurricular activities including scientific, cultural, and social activities that are overseen by faculty members and the elected student union.
