The Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the University of Petra organized a field visit for undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students to Pharma Prime, aiming to link theoretical concepts with practical applications within the courses "Automated Analysis" and "Quality Control."
The visit supervisor, Prof. Iyad Al-Mallah, stated that the university is keen on exposing students to the latest techniques used in the pharmaceutical industry, adding that the visit allows students to understand the requirements of professional laboratory work and how to apply academic knowledge in industrial and research environments.
Dr. Anas Al-Shishani and Dr. Abdulnasser Al-Shara from the company provided an explanation of the role of modern techniques in pharmaceutical analyses, including an introduction to advanced analytical instruments such as liquid and gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and genetic and immunological testing techniques.
Students also observed the workflow of analytical procedures in accordance with globally recognized quality systems, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO 17025 standards, and electronic quality management systems used in modern laboratories.
